Dear Members,

COVID-19 (Corona virus) Pandemic - Bulletin No. 13

I am hopeful that with the significant decline in new COVID-19 cases across Australia we will soon (pending relaxation of the Government imposed restrictions in the next month or so) be able to reinstate competition golf (2 player per group with the continuation of Exercise Golf arrangements).

We are currently planning for the return to competition golf and considering how it will work taking into account: membership categories, days of week restrictions, mixed competitions, ladies competitions and warm up arrangements.  We will continue to provide opportunities for members to continue to play Exercise Golf without the requirement to play in a competition.

The reduction in daylight hours resulting in less tee times and issues with 7 day members being able to make bookings have caused us to review the current arrangements (i.e. all members have access to the course every day of the week).

Latest Developments:

  • As from Tuesday 28th April, new booking sheets will now be delayed to 7:30pm each night from the current 11am opening time.  The intent is to provide fairer access to tee times, especially for those members who have daily work commitments.

o   Members (especially Seniors) without internet access will be invited to contact the Office prior to opening of the sheets to arrange pre-bookings.

o   Current access to the course on Wednesday's and Saturday's will be restricted from Tuesday evening.  Existing bookings will be honoured, but any future bookings will be limited to members normally permitted to play on these days.

o   If however, there are vacant booking slots that exist 2 days prior to the day of play, a restricted member may book a time slot by contacting the Pro-shop.  For example if you are a 5 day member (Monday - Friday) and want to play on Saturday, providing slots are available after 8am on the Thursday beforehand you will be able to make a booking through the Pro-shop.

  • If you are booked in to play and decide not to, it would be extremely helpful if you would delete your name from the booking sheet online or advise the Pro-shop directly.
  • If you want to change your tee time booking to a vacant slot, please clear it with the Pro-shop beforehand.
  • To play Exercise Golf, prior bookings are essential, members are requested to refrain from arriving at the club without a booking

The Pro-shop continues to manage and coordinate Exercise Golf and the use of the practice facilities. Your full cooperation in following directions from staff and Course Marshals is requested to ensure our compliance with Government regulations.

The overwhelming majority of members have complied with Exercise Golf directions.  It is important that members continue to comply with the arrangements for Exercise Golf (see following page); failure to comply may result in Government fines, forfeiture of playing rights or in the worst case, closure of the Club.

Our overriding priority is to continue to be able to play Exercise Golf during the COVID-19 pandemic to help maintain our health and wellbeing.
